خرید و نصب این عایقها برای این ساختمان دو طبقه با بیش از 250 متر مربع زیربنا، 3700 دلار هزینه در بر داشته است. میانگین هزینه انرژی این ساختمان در 7 ماه آوریل تا اكتبر سال 2006 و 2007 ، 211 دلار بوده است. این عدد در سال 2008 كه از عایق Nansulate استفاده شده است، به 148 دلار رسیده است. یعنی میتوان انتظار داشت كه در طول حدود 5 سال، هزینه عایق به كار رفته در این ساختمان جبران گردد.
مسأله عایقكاری در كشورهایی مثل ایران كه هدر رفتن انرژی در ساختمانها به دلیل رعایت نشدن استانداردهای ساختمان بیشتر از كشورهای پیشرفته است، مسألهی مهمتری نیز هست.
همچنین، با توجه به سودآوری و گستردگی صنعت ساختمان، سرمایهگذاری تولیدكنندگان در این بخش، منطقی به نظر میرسد.

چکیده :
نفت و گاز منابع درآمد سرشاري براي كشورمان به شمار مي آيد. اگر ما بتوانيم از اين منابع به صورت درست و منطقي استفاده كنيم، كشورمان بهترين امكان را براي رشد و توسعه منظم اقتصادي خواهد داشت. در غير اين صورت يكي از بزرگترين نعمتهاي طبيعي خود را از دست داده ايم.
كشور ما هنوز تا اندازه زيادي براي تامين كالاهاي مصرفي مورد احتياج خود، به صادرات نفتي وابسته است . از سوي ديگر مصرف انرژي در كشور با چنان سرعتي در حال بالارفتن است كه بنابر نظر متخصصان، اگر چاره اي انديشه نشود، تا چند سال ديگر بخش بزرگي از نفت و گاز استخراجي بايد در داخل كشور مصرف گردد و سرمايه ارزي حاصل از آنها هر روز كاهش مي يابد. از اينجاست كه به اهميت مصرف درست انرژي پي مي بريم . فراموش نكنيم كه فراواني منابع نفتي در كشور ما كه ارزاني نسبي انرژي را به همراه داشته است، سبب شده كه بسياري از افراد و خانواده ها به صورت منطقي از انرژي استفاده نكنند و بخش بزرگي از اين ثروت را تلف كنند.
